Fire Burning Through Your Veins

After releasing three EPs independently, collaborating with Fred Falke and Xenomania along the way, Bristol pop maven Florrie made the leap to a major label in 2012.

Since then, she has been working away on the tracks that will make up her debut album. A recent post on her site claimed that she is close to completing work on 20 tracks and almost ready to launch her quest to conquer the charts and our hearts.

Before then, though, there is a sneak preview of what to expect in the guise of the new theme tune to a new Sony headphones advertisement, 'Live A Little'. Written and performed by Florrie, the track is a welcome reminder of her vibrant pop energy.

Take A Snapshot Inside Of My Soul

After releasing a slew of genius mash-ups last year and, more recently, this 'collaboration' with Deadmau5, it seems travelling circus performer-turned-popstar Neon Hitch is finally set to release some music of her own.

Two dub-infused remixes of a track called 'Am I Dreaming?' recently surfaced and now comes 'Get Over You', the first single from her debut album.

'Get Over You' is a soaring pop-ballad produced by Benny Blanco and written by Sia and, although I'm not entirely convinced that this is the song to break her into the mainstream, those credits make me optimistic for the calibre of songmaking on the album.

Dropping Citric Acid

Dragonette are one of those acts, like Robyn and Girls Aloud, credited with restoring the good name of pop music in the latter part of the last decade, after the boyband/girlband explosion that coincided with the turn of the millenium led to stigma so severe that pop purveyors were practically driven into hiding.

Even so, I never really 'got' Dragonette myself. Recently, however, a couple of their collaborations have caught my attention. First of all there was a track called 'Hello' with French producer Martin Solvieg and now comes a guest-spot on Don Diablo's latest release, 'Animale', which is 'right up my street'.

The track is accompanied by a brilliantly bizarre video about a young boy's toxic relationship with oranges. Behold:



I also came across this rather potent dubstep remix over on Sheena Beaston, which I suspect I'd rather enjoy after an orange segment or two.

We're Under The Sheets And You're Killing Me...

Ellie Goulding's music video for 'Under The Sheets' has surfaced and it's nothing short of brilliant. The video features some gorgeous cinematography and perfectly complements Ellie's brand of other-worldly alt-pop.

'Under The Sheets' is being released by Neon Gold and should lay some great foundations for her major-label release next year.
