Playing it By Ear

I haven't really been able to keep tabs on developments in the world of music these past few weeks, but one source of mild blogospheric hysteria that hasn't escaped my notice is London synthpop duo Labyrinth Ear.

Breaking More Waves posted one of their tracks, Snow White, a while back, which cleverly transforms a sample from Disney's film of the same name into a blissed-out electro track. Just as good is laconic lovesong Navy Light.

Bouncing Back

After thwarting attempts to have his videos removed from Youtube, Aussie remix artist Pogo has bounced back with 'Upular', a remix using clips from the likely winner of the 2010 Best Animated Feature, Pixar's 'Up'.



I honestly think this is on par with 'Alice', the video that originally brought him to my attention.

Completely Hooked

On Pogo's mash-up videos, that is.

This latest one is great but I'm not sure if anything will quite top 'Alice' but I'm certainly looking forward to his next project - a Winnie the Pooh mash-up.

Are You Making This Magic?

Pogo, the man responsible for 'Alice' and 'Expialidocious', has produced yet another brilliant remix.

'Mary's Magic' uses samples from 'The Secret Garden' and the accompanying visuals remind me of why I loved this film as a child.

But Wait, There's More

Remember Alice? Well, despite the fact that the video is almost two years old, its recent surge in popularity appear to have spurred its creator, Pogo, into resuming his craft.

In the past two months, he's posted three new clips to his youtube channel. Neither of the first two of these quite lived up to 'Alice' but his latest attempt comes close.
